What are you using to remove the residue?

@obsolete i am heating it and gently scraping it away with a knife

@zigzagjoe I managed to remove the remaining 16 chips off their boards in under an hour thanks to your suggested method. Around a third of them were stuck on with this glue, and another third have corroded pins that are either just about to fall off or already have. I guess I have around 10-12 chips that will be possible to reuse, but I should test them out (maybe on your qfp2pga design).

Glad you salvaged most of them. Yeah, that glue gave me a really hard time but I'm super happy I have that overclocked CPU with FPU now, thanks again!

i've got a spare lc25 card or two that I'm tempted to try the swap on.. how much success have youse had with the transplants?
