This is the other one I have ... which I'm trying to see if I can get working with a simple VGA cable wired in to a DE9. The pinouts that I've found on another thread are definitely wrong so going to try to use my multimeter in frequency mode to identify HSYNC and VSYNC.

If I ever get it working then I'll definitely want to try to get the output working. For now though it's going in the attic. I've got a 030 Mobius accelerator card on another SE which I'm about to wire up a VGA cable for :) Attached photos. Hope they're good enough!

Update: I’ve tested v6.0.5 on an SE FDHD and I get the same error on boot? Anyway booting v6.0.8 on the SE FDHD with the Viking driver installed but not installing the Viking controller produces the same question mark on the control panel icon and the same “Sorry, the control panel cannot get...

Update: System v6.0.1 and v6.0.3 produce this error (without the driver being installed).

No problem, hopefully the attached works! I've tried to boot the machine in to v6.0.5 but it just crashes with "The System file on this startup disk may be damaged. The Installer can be used to repair this disk." even on a fresh install of v6.0.5 before I've even installed the Viking Driver, so...

Not sure if you still have this card but I just got an SE with this card and it has "Viking Driver 2.0" in the System folder. That's the good news. The bad news is that with this installed, the Viking Driver control panel complains there's not enough RAM (even when all other control panels etc...

Ah, I’d have loved to take you up on that because I’m replacing my drive with an MFM emulator but I’m afraid my MiniScribe 20Mb 8425 MFM drive had suffered with an extreme case of stiction and the heads did not survive being freed. The heads have since been removed so the drive spins up freely...
