    looks like someone replaced the flyback with a different type which does not need the connection which has been removed

    I have a classic with even more damage from the leaking battery. Removed RTC and sound chip, D1, D2, Y1, C1, C2 to clean beneath and repair a lot of tracks. Tested the board before replacing these components.

    You can remove the RTC chip, the classic will start without the chip present (if no other problems exist on the board)

    probably combination analog board I still see capacitor fluid residu from the old capacitors, please clean that you can use pp1 to adjust the 5v/12v voltage , take care, high voltages around!!! adjust the 5V a bit higher, but also measure 12V so that it is not too high logic board probably...

    did you try resetting the PRAM? Reset PRAM (hold down command-option-P-R while pressing the power button, continue holding these keys down until the computer chimes at least 3 times, then release). could you try booting without the battery present

    You could check the diodes on the back of the analog board, had a problem once with dp5 or dp8 (iirc ) which caused simliar problem

    Can someone confirm the bomarc schematic for the classic II is wrong regarding pin 1 and 2 of the DFAC? wrong version (pin 1 connected to pin 2 and swapped) corrected version Second question where does the via next to C11 go
