Found two broken traces in the RTC circuit.
PRAM saves now. However, as I said the RAM test somehow became disabled before these repairs. I'm currently clocking 9 seconds for startup.
My IIcx won't save PRAM. It has a new battery. I've already reset it...
I'm not getting the RAM test at this time, shutting down the computer and starting it back up 5 minutes later.
I'm running this ROM now, but I don't see an improvement in boot time. On both ROMs it takes about 30 seconds from pushing the power button to the happy Mac icon appearing. While I'm here, I'd also like to try changing the startup sound
I have a plastic MacBook that I'd found in the trash a while ago. Still has all the previous owner's data on it.
Needs new CD-ROM drive, LCD (if the black blob in the northeastern corner of the screen is to be remedied), battery, ideally the RAM should be maxed out to 6 gigs and the HDD replaced...
