    Rare PCI card

I have a simular card from the same company which also has a 68020, but its a NuBus-version. It was sitting in a Quadra 650 - I'll see if I can recover anything from the hard drive.

    Finally found a 1MB L2 cache for my 6100

Nice! Yes, I'll get it taped over - or actually make it part of the 3D print model on the next pass  I don't know which way the Quadra 610-style PSU blows by default, but I have opened this one up to make sure it blows air out, not in, so I think the flow works well even with the current...

    Finally found a 1MB L2 cache for my 6100

Nono I run it with the lid on - I took it off to show the setup! The air comes in from the vent at the bottom under the hard drive bay (there's no plastic mount blocking it there), passes through the hot sandwich and gets sucked out through the PSU which also has a vent (I think I reversed the...

    Finally found a 1MB L2 cache for my 6100

Thank you for the great analysis! 1. The Finder scrolling is me just holding the mouse button down on the "scroll down"-button in the Finder, so maybe that is sent as repeated actions maybe? I don't know how it is implemented! But I must say subjectively at least, the Finder felt a lot faster...

    Finally found a 1MB L2 cache for my 6100

Thank you! And no I don't think its made by Apple, I'm not sure they made them in that size. Here's the front and back - the chip with the missing markings is apparently a switch type 74*257 mux, according to the person who is reverse engineering it:

    Finally found a 1MB L2 cache for my 6100

I wasn't even sure they were even around but last week I found one on eBay and jumped on it! I've run some tests this evening, and I've made arrangements to have it reverse engineered. If everything goes to plan, there should be some open sourced schematics which should allow anyone who wants...

    Which LC/Performa to buy?

Get whichever one you can 😄 I am biased towards the LC475 - it is objectively the superior machine - but the LC III is also a very solid 68k machine in its own right. Plus many upgrades you make to an LC III will carry straight over to an LC475 if you pick one up in the future. Both use 72pin...

    Macintosh SE/30 Triple Threat

I got lucky and found an EIZO - I think they fit great both in terms of color and industrial design 😄 only issue is they are mostly 5:4 and mine doesn't play nice with the output from my DOS card

    Macintosh SE/30 Triple Threat

Super cool, congratulations! There are some games with unexpected 1-bit support that are worth checking out: Syndicate, Avara, and Loom will all run on a stock SE/30 in 1-bit color and they look amazing 😄

What to buy LC475 or Performa 630

The clips on my 630s face plate came off so I just put two magnets in there to snap it in place - works really well! (please ignore the missing plastics, I'm going to recap the PSU when it stops being -14 outside 😄)

What to buy LC475 or Performa 630

Lots of great points, I want to add that I have both machines but will be keeping the LC475 for two additional reasons: - the LC475 supports my Portrait Display, but the 630 does not - the 630 is noisy, whereas the LC475 is silent (to me) with a drop-in Noctua replacement

Missing pad; did I ruin my LC475 or can I fix it?

+1 for "twist them off", and good luck with your LC475! They are great 68k machines and there's a surprising number of upgrades you can do 😄

Overclock LC475/P475/Q605 without soldering or spicy-o-clock

Can confirm that resistor swapping an LC475 to get 40MHz does not work, in my experience - it needs the more elaborate solution!

Replacement Power Supply in Quadra 605

I figure there's other components in those PSUs that aren't simple caps and which also degrade over the decades, nice to have an option to just "reset" the whole shebang. Plus they aren't THAT expensive - usually less than $20, and wiring them up is pretty straightforward (not like an ATX...

Color Classic's Floppy drive works externally but not internally, Why???

What our very direct friend here is trying to say is that the symptoms you are describing means it is most likely that the issue is with the Color Classic logic board, not the disk or disk drive (since these work ok elsewhere). Since capacitor leakage is by far the main cause of logic board...
