When using the latest code "TapPort" needs to be renamed to "LinuxTapPort" in your starting script. So where you import the class and where you define the network interface. The previous "TapPort" class has been broken out into "LinuxTapPort" and "BsdTapPort".
All seems to be good! I've tried on a few different Macintoshes connected via Localtalk and Ethertalk over a few hours. No errors in the Tashrouter log and all can print to the Imagewriter II with no issues. So it seems to fix all the problems I've seen! Nice.
I checked it out and it works fine for me. With the new "route_lkup_replies=True" parameter I am able to print from an EtherTalk connected Macintosh to an LocalTalk connected ImageWriter II just fine (good test out for my newly acquired color ribbons!).
At the risk of public humiliation but for...
No worries! I did replace the polariser film and made a complete mess of it all. I'm not going to do that in a hurry again! But then I found the LCD screen on ebay for about £8 and now my Pismo screen is lovely and sharp!
Great news! I've got an AppleTalk ImageWriter II and I added the modified name_information.py (5) that you posted in this thread. It's fine since then. Should I update to the new code (and add the modified name_information.py file) or hang on for a bit? Happy to test if you want feedback!
Sorry to butt into a topic I know very little about and I doubt this really adds much. But I finally got my Powerbook G3 Pismo connected via wifi on Mac OS9 - (OrinicoGold PCMCIA card using Airtalk native drivers). It's connected via WEP (I'm quite rural) to a WRT54GSv1 running DD-WRT (latest...
My first (and only) recap of a logic board was a Quadra 610. Now it's working pretty well and I (still) have not yet recapped the PSU (although it's an Astec one). Unfortunately I'm afraid I have nothing really too helpful to add but I would say:
It does not need a PRAM battery to boot.
Once...
I went and got a Belkin F5D6020 from that list. Unfortunately, as luck would have it, there are two versions of the card. Only v1 is supported and guess which one I bought? :-) Oh well, it was very cheap! I tried the MacSense and the IOXperts drivers and neither of them support it either!
Great idea. I haven't connected to Hotline servers that much at all. Amusingly I connected to the hotline.macos9lives.com server yesterday to check if there were any airport drivers/extensions that I was missing. But that was the first time for a long time. For chatting which servers would you...
Thanks. Will have a look for one. Now that the Pismo has battery power (rebuilt battery pack giving five hrs +) my aim is to sit on the sofa and "do something online!". Not quite sure what that "something" is, but hey it's a great objective for this retro Mac hobby!
I could not find v1351, however, I did find the UK version F5D7010uk - v1314uk . I guessed such a minor version bump was mainly due to geographic variations. Plus I found this old Apple forums post saying it worked for them.
Unfortunately under Mac OS9 Airport just does not see the card...
So another update. After getting it charging again the capacity was shown as just 236mAh. I was a little too nervous about letting it run down until it powered off, so I fully charged then booted the OSX Tiger installer again and let the voltage go down to 9.5v (previously it died at 9.0v). I...
Now I've got the battery pack of my Powerbook G3 Pismo rebuilt and working I need to get wifi working! I looked at the price of non-extreme Aircard on ebay and they seem really high! So I looked for third party cards. From a few posts it seems that Belkin F5D7010 with Broadcom chipsets are well...
