Hard disks and activity LED Macintosh SE

That won't work when it comes to use the disk light. When a second floppy drive is added, you have to take out the slot to be able to access the floppy drive. And in that second drive slot is the little screen for the disk light. The disk tray needed is the Apple 805-5066-B. You can find them...

Hard disks and activity LED Macintosh SE

The BlueSCSI has a connection point on the board for LEDs. The online manual discribes even how to lighten up the LED if it is not bright enough. If you want to find the right drive tray, partnumber is 805-5066-B. The original LED+cable on this tray is not very long. In one of my SEs, I extended...

    Picked up another iifx

These RAM simms looks like 1Mb simms to me. 1Mb simms are not very rare. But simms with more Mb's are very rare. Edit: I see in the video the the reset button is missing. Is a model used on various logic boards, so should be find easy.

    Weird Mac SE configuration?

Seeing the numbers of the ROM HI, ROM LO and IWM chip, this is an 800K-SE and not an FDHD-SE. When it is an FDHD-SE, the ROMs sould be numbered: ROM LO 342-0702 ROM HI 342-0701 IWM 344-0062-01

Starting on a Mac SE (SE/30 modded) journey.

Nice machine. Have fun with it. Interesting that there is no internal floppy drive and both floppy drive ports have that cover plate.

A slow start and a good start - recapping my SE/30

I would suggest a BlueSCSI Desktop Pico 2W-version. Then you have a hard drive replacement and an ethernet-over-SCSI using WiFi, all in one.

Color Classic's Floppy drive works externally but not internally, Why???

That is the message you get when missing the enabler. When you put the System Enabler 401 file in the system folder on the disk, it will finish the startup without an error message.

Color Classic's Floppy drive works externally but not internally, Why???

A Color Classic needs System Enabler 401 in the system folder.

    New SE/30 find!

Reflow solder joints. Specially from the connectors on the analog board and one on the logic board.

    Macintosh Classic Blank Screen

Yeah, could be. I don't remember how long I've let it dry. Luckily I was able to find a new-in-the-box-replacement board back then, so the "problem" was solved.

    Macintosh Classic Blank Screen

I don't think that soapy water is a great idea. I did that ones years age with a logic board from an SE/30 and it never came to life again.

Colour Classic / LC575 / Internal SCSI Issues

In the root directory of the SD card there is a file called "log.txt" If there are problems with the BlueSCSI, you could possibly read it back in this file. And what other files are you having on the SD card? You should have a disk file with a working system or an empty disk file with a correct...

Colour Classic / LC575 / Internal SCSI Issues

Termination power should be ON. Otherwise you should power it with the internal molex connector+converter cable.

    I got a Power PC 8600/200

It’s a nice machine. I had one for several years. I‘m not sure if this floppy drive will fit in an LCIII.
