I had an SE/30 that I fixed by using a different ROM. I too replaced all of the caps and reseated RAM with known working and used 99% IPA on all socketed chips and slots, unfortunately always got Simasimac screen. Decided to try the ROM-inator II from my IIci and it booted. Not saying it is your...
My monitor worked flawlessly after the recap for about 6+ months but I now have wavy video so I am assuming that the large filter cap I ordered didn't stand the test of time.
My older daughter started soccer and now my life revolves around practice and games so I haven't had a chance to get...
The HDD might still stand a chance but it will be hit or miss. The drive head parks itself against a rubber stop which over time becomes goop. I have successfully opened the HDD's and voided the warranty (LMAO) so that I could gently move the head away from the rubber stop and then added a bit...
@halkyardo, you have made my day my friend. I have been looking for a way to either disable my RasterOps Colorboard 264/SE30 when not using a second monitor and stumbled upon this post while at work.
First thing I did when I got home was fire up my SE/30 and would you know it, dragging the tiny...
@nightingale OK, this has got to be the best thing to come home to, second only to my beautiful family.
I must say, this is an excellent release, extremely durable packaging, full color manual and extras that make the purchase an extremely good value.
Thank you!!
ORDER PLACED!!!
I have been on a little bit of a hiatus, too many hobbies, not enough time in an day but this will get my Mac's a bit of use.
Cant wait to get my boxed copy!
I loved the DEMO and the kids enjoyed it as well.
Can't wait to see what yo have in store next :)
I too believe @cheesestraws is correct here. On IIci's, only way to bypass RAM check is to use a customer ROM SIMM like BMOW, etc. I have 128MB on my IIci and spent the money on the ROM to bypass the check as it took an eternity to cold boot.
First of all, great job with the recap!
Do you mind telling me the cost of the caps from Mouser? I usually price check Console5 vs Digi and Mouser but it seems Console5 wins out just about every single time.
Thanks and keep up the great work!
I could be wring but I don't think its a cap issue if the mouse is working as well as a few keys.
Do you have another ADB KB you can try and use to see if that one works? I have a feeling the failure after the recap is just a coincidence.
Keep us posted.
That is some sad carnage Polishvito. The traces are not the only damaged components. If you look at the legs to the Motorola chip labeled MC68000FN8, that is your CPU and a lot of the legs are probably rusted beyond repair and/or not making contact with the pad below.
