    My IIsi is not booting

now trying to get that old logic board working again. Thought I'd share that I took UJ5 (ROM chip closest to the power socket) off with a hot air station, cleaned up the pads and desoldered it. The screen now displays a solid blue (still with no boot chime). I'm probably going to tackle the...

Mystery IIsi that chimes, but has no video, and won't boot!

I've got a IIsi that just started doing this after I recapped it. ugh. Honestly I did also do an isopropyl bath as well. I wonder if I got some corrosion slurry to form under a chip in the process. Curious how this is going for you?

    resurrected a IICX!

I'm excited to share I got a IICX that was not powering on to boot and function after a partial recap. After recapping the 9 47uF 16v's I powered it up and at first the video wasn't working (stuck on grey). Luckily I had a second video card and after plugging it in voila! Excited to add...

    Recapped my MicroMac Accelerator card!

When I inherited my Grandmother's Macintosh SE, it came with a little surprise: a MicroMac Accelerator card. It goes on the PDS and bumps the machine to a 68030 @ 25 MHz with support for at least 16MB of RAM. Some of you may have seen it when I was at VCF Midwest 19 last month. There's an...

    My IIsi is not booting

A quick update: I found a fair price on a new logic board and recapped it. The IIsi is now working. I’ll be shelving the broken logic board indefinitely. Thanks to everyone for the good advise!

    My IIsi is not booting

Hello all, I’ve been quite enjoying the many wonderful threads on this forum especially in regards to troubleshooting old Macs (and especially the IIsi). I have a IIsi that is not booting. The specific issue: at power up, the only sound the machine makes is a sort of clicking static noise (it...

    IIsi onboard ram replacement

Out of curiosity how did you determine the onboard RAM needs to be replaced. I have a IIsi that doesn’t boot and I’ve been trying to figure out why myself.
