now trying to get that old logic board working again. Thought I'd share that I took UJ5 (ROM chip closest to the power socket) off with a hot air station, cleaned up the pads and desoldered it. The screen now displays a solid blue (still with no boot chime). I'm probably going to tackle the...
I've got a IIsi that just started doing this after I recapped it. ugh. Honestly I did also do an isopropyl bath as well. I wonder if I got some corrosion slurry to form under a chip in the process.
Curious how this is going for you?
I'm excited to share I got a IICX that was not powering on to boot and function after a partial recap. After recapping the 9 47uF 16v's I powered it up and at first the video wasn't working (stuck on grey). Luckily I had a second video card and after plugging it in voila! Excited to add...
And here's the webpage for that particular card. looks like 16MB of RAM is the limit and you can do a 4MB RAM disk: https://www.micromac.com/products/multispeed.html

There's an...
stumbled upon this video of Ray Lynch working on some music and he's using a Mac prominently in his setup. Any idea what software and Mac he's using? would love to know more about it:

This looks somewhat similar to your fix.
has anyone tried out one of these...
A quick update:
I found a fair price on a new logic board and recapped it. The IIsi is now working. I’ll be shelving the broken logic board indefinitely.
Thanks to everyone for the good advise!
Hello all,
I’ve been quite enjoying the many wonderful threads on this forum especially in regards to troubleshooting old Macs (and especially the IIsi). I have a IIsi that is not booting.
The specific issue: at power up, the only sound the machine makes is a sort of clicking static noise (it...
Out of curiosity how did you determine the onboard RAM needs to be replaced. I have a IIsi that doesn’t boot and I’ve been trying to figure out why myself.
