the 64bit extension of pci slot is basically its own de-facto key so its no surprise that a pci64 card can physically slot into any voltage-same pci32 slot, as long as any pcb components/headers doesn't get in the way like phipli was saying. unlike with pcie where theres no keying so hence you...
I'm somewhat not sure (but I could be wrong given I have very limited experience with this) because I still have to hold down the c key to get the system to start from the performa disc instead of the hdd. or perhaps the ide&scsi mismashed logic boards are somewhat excluded from a singular boot...
not to bring this topic up again but I'm for now simply asking if some multi-protocol transceiver chip eg alike to this random sample
https://www.maxlinear.com/product/interface/serial-transceivers/multiprotocol/dual-protocol/sp330
would had easily made for a no-fuss connectivity conversion...
thanks as I somehow had forgot that the voltage levels could be different, hm well I'll see if I want to get around to trying it or otherwise pinch an old laptop just simply for that serial setup
if only rxd/txd/0v was required to interface with a certain preloaded mcu, is it plausible that that would work through mac's rs422-type serial as well?
I know I'll still have to see about actually being able to write something onto to it that way, but so far the pdf seem to suggest that its...
romotchka at least your problem thankfully was completely the opposite of a rather silly 'murphy law offshot' which stated this: there is no problem that the right amount of thermonuclear can't fix
(although I can't imagine what a computer of any sort would look like after a tiny fusion flask...
yes, the 630 itself is where you would add the apple video-in card to the shorter brown slot to the left in the photo url below, and then optionally also plug the tv tuner [via ribbon] to that particular card itself to get your tv-in and composite-in needs
(I just had to write all of that in...
well bibilt this thread suggests that it is plausible but there are some people that say 50mhz is unstable and they have to settle for just 47mhz or so instead. I don't have anything more to add to your post atm btw
well if you don't want to look for a mactv or 630 logic board then .. hmm .. I wonder if anyone else here might know if the current aio's psu could still handle a base-spec (other than for the video kit being added) nubus-based ppc logic board?
hmm well the 550 doesn't support the apple video kit so you would probably have had to look for that uncommon pds-based composite input card (I know there was at least one model I just can't recall any actual details right now..) and use an external tuner box to actually watch anything via that...
theres some good ones on ebay/etc in the first place so its a moot exercise to ever think of this for real cost-wise but..if for some reason someone was to want to recreate a new one for themselves, would this kind of sram had worked or theres more to the hardware interface than I thought there...
very nice website, too easy to lose your entire day in there I imagine!
but anyhow I skimmed through the macos list picking out just a few familiar common titles I knew of as well and eventually narrowed it down to these four to share just for humours...
sorry to add to this thread but I was just musing while taking a really good look at this myself..
I mean its just an 'armchair thought' but it looks like the pro/turbo chip does support 8mbytes via just two chips as well..and in that case..

seeing this topic here

made me think a bit about that for a while before deciding to ask that topic question here..
any games that had something obvious in its ux and/or engine code that could-had-been but was never actually utilized...
I know adaptec was likely thinking of the towers (which obviously are quite different boards in their own rights of course) when they sold their macintosh pci cards but nevertheless it seem like the datasheets for a few different 2900-series all explicitly mention native bootability as far as...
