Thanks a bunch! Got one on order. This machine is in great shape I'd hate for something stupid like that to give it an issue so I'm glad that I should be good. And I appreciate the catalog link, that's a great resource.
My Powerbook 180c didn’t have the tiny screw that holds the case together under the flap, so I replaced it with a similar one that turned out to be too long, but stilled seemed to work.
Opened up the machine for something else, and it turns out that long screw busted off a diode on the...
Good news! Did what finkmac suggested, letting IPA flow beneath the flexible ribbons while massaging them and making sure I saw IPA squeeze out from underneath. Tilted the display so all the IPA flowed one direction and sopped it up with Q-tips until the yellow color of the goo went away. After...
Any tips for flushing it out? Just let ipa soak underneath?
One other thing I noticed - if I leave it off for a while, I'll turn it on and it will have no issue but after maybe 20 seconds the line fades in.
Got a really a really nice condition Powerbook 180c. The screen seemed to have 2 horizontal rows of pixels out sometimes when I turned it on. Sometimes it was fine though. I recapped the electrolytic caps on the display and sure enough there was a ton of leakage to clean off both sides of the...
Still working on trying different adapter pin combinations, but I was able to install the RadiusWare control panel. Unfortunately upon startup, the radius extension icon has an X over it and then when I try to open it in control panels it says it won't work on this Macintosh. Weird because the...
Oh hmm interesting, you're saying the db15 output on the radius card has the sense pin on a different pin from the apple standard? I suppose looking at a pinout diagram of the pivot card connector vs a standard apple connector pinout diagram could show me where the discrepancy is right?
Thanks, is the driver this one? https://macintoshgarden.org/apps/driver-radius-pivot-card
I saw some downloads for RadiusWare and Radius System Software but neither of them mention the SE/30 like the first link.
Also my OS is System 7.1, could that be a factor?
Update: plugged in an lcd screen using a vga adapter and got the radius logo with a blue display and turned on its side. Unfortunately nothing else though, its not showing up in the monitor control panel and TattleTech also doesn’t show it (i think). Any ideas what to try next?
I was going off of this post which claims the Radius cards are compatible: https://68kmla.org/bb/index.php?threads/se-30-portrait-display.43193/post-470330
The 13w3 cable is an original apple branded one. It is DB15 -> 13w3. I have a vga monitor, is there a db15 -> vga cable that would work?
Hi everyone, been going through some similar threads but still not finding a clear solution. I have an SE/30 with a Radius pivot se/30 display card and I’m trying to use it with my Macintosh portrait monitor. I have the proper cable (db15-13w3). SE/30 has had logic board, analog board, and psu...
