ZuluSCSI in 6360 being difficult--help!

Hey folks. I wanted to check in an see if anyone could help me with an issue I am having. I have a Performa 6360, running 7.6.1. It has given me lots of problems, but I thought I had gotten in to cooperate with me on most days. Something strange happened recently though. The CD drive was dead, so I replaced the CD drive with a ZuluSCSI which I used to mount CD images. This weekend, for some reason, it stopped mounting CD images but it would still mount HD images. I would check in SCSI Probe and the ZuluSCSI showed up, but the disc wouldn't mount on my desktop. I tried multiple CD images, still nothing. I tried different SD cards, nothing. I had beein playing with Conflict Catcher (I was trying to get SuperWIngCOmmander to run) and thought maybe I had screwed up the extensions, so I reinstalled system 7.6.1 to get everything back to default. That seems to have helped, but the CD image shows up about 50% of the time. When it doesn't show up, I turn the whole thing off, pop the SD card out, slide it back in, and boot up the computer, and the image mounts.

ANy idea what's going on here? Yes, termination is on.

@mloret, this firmware is quite old. There have been eight firmware releases since version 1.1.1. Before you do anything else, do yourself a favor and get current, because it's entirely possible you're running up against bugs that are already fixed.

For ZuluSCSI V1.1, you just need to download ZuluSCSIv1_1_2023-04-11.bin and place it on the SD card you use with your ZuluSCSI. Then, power it up. It takes about one second to update the firmware.

The latest ZuluSCSI firmware releases (as well as the latest development version) are available for download from https://github.com/ZuluSCSI/ZuluSCSI-firmware/releases, and you can also build the firmware yourself, if you have a reason to want to do so.

Thank you for this response and directions on how to update the firmware. I will do that promptly when I work with my Zuluscsi again.

Hello again! I did update the firmware—thank you for the instructions. I still seem to be experiencing one strange quirk but only with CD images. Some of the time, the CD images won’t mount. However, when I power down the machine, take the sd card out and slide it back in and reboot, the images mount. Powering down and reboot by itself doesn’t do the trick. I have to remove and reinstall the SD card from the sd slot. Weird huh? Any idea what this could be?

Thank you again for your guidance.
