Wits end trying to “fix” external floppy drive port on 128k…help needed

I recently got a 128k that could not boot at all. I was able to get the internal floppy to boot just fine now by fixing the actual drive but I cannot for the life of me fix the external DB19 port to read floppies via floppyemu.

- I am using a known working floppy emu.
-using a known working analog board from another system that boots fine using floppyemu
- when booting from floppyemu the system just hangs at the ?floppy icon on screen.
-when booting from internal floppy, and error keeps popping up that the drive needs initialized. This only happens when the floppyemu is connected. When it is not, and I boot from internal floppy I get no errors.
- I reflowed the WOZ disk controller chip.
- I completely replaced the DB19 port on the logic board.
-the 3 capacitors have been replaced.

What else can be done? Any and all advice is appreciated. I’d really like to get this working so I do not have to rely on the aging internal floppy drive.

this is also my first post of a long time lurker. Please be easy on me. I’m new to this type of work.

Thank you!

What OS version are you selecting on the FloppyEmu ? I assume the FloppyEmu is getting power through the DB19.

First thing I would try is connecting the FloppyEMU to the internal floppy port directly - just use its ribbon, removing the DB19 adapter.

Thank you for replying. I always use 3.2 on these older macs. I also tried 1.1 and it did not work either. Both work on my other 128k.

Thank you for the reply. I just tried it and was able to boot successfully into system 3.2. I’ve used the DB19 adapter on my other system just now as well. No issues and booted fine.

Did you check continuity between internal, external connector and floppy controller?
The only pin different between internal and external connector is the enable (ENBL1 / ENBL2)

Thank you for the reply. I’m sorry, but I’m very new to using a multimeter. Am I to pair each up to see if there is continuity? I also don’t know which pins I should pair for the floppy controller. I’m very sorry to pester for more assistance!

edit : nevermind. Your post helped me out so much. I did some youtube quick lessons and it was the ph2 that was not registering. I soldiered a wire to connect the two, tried the floppyemu again and it worked. Wow — I cannot thank you enough!!!
