Congratulations. It's great when it happens.

I sometimes wonder whether the purpose of the initial ad is to find people who love the computers as a way of finding someone to pass on the beloved items to.
This has happened to me a few times to me in Switzerland. The initial computer goes for a modest price. Since I am anyway enthusiastic about the old Macs, have lots of stories about them, I come across as someone worthy of receiving the collection when I go to collect the initial computer. I then come away with 10 systems & as much peripherals when I had planned for just the one.

So I went back today and grabbed more... Lots of parts, external drives, 3 NOS aftermarket cases, a loaded up Mac IIci, and I dunno what else. Loads of disks I have to sort. The highlights of today's trip were the NOS cases, a 1200mhz Sonnet g4 accelerator, a 1500mhz Newertech one, a Maxpowr g3, and more external drives than I know what to do with. Also some cool midi stuff I have no use for lol

These are all the goodies I got from yesterday's haul and the Cube one, minus a 1500mhz g4 accelerator that already went to someone I know. My current plan is to put the 1200mhz Sonnet in ny keeper cube to replace the 1500mhz Newertech that seems to be very finicky, and I'll probably be letting go of the Newertech one, as well as one or both of the Maxpowr g3's

Loving that custom cube :)

Some very nice cards there too - Nubus wise you look to have the extremely good Radius PrecisionColor 24X and a desirable SCSI FWB Jackhammer card.
Yeah, I don't know what I'll use them for yet as I haven't gotten a nubus Mac I liked enough to keep, but I figured I should definitely keep those cards around just in case

@RadRacer203 I meant to ask, is the Dr. Bott KVM (silver with the 4 position knob) Apple 15pin and ADB? I have a 2 position USB/VGA one but I'm jealous if you have the ADB version.

I had the same idea!
Any idea - I was curious - does it just mechanically switch the ADB pins between connected computers? I've wondered because ADB devices negotiate an id on powerup. If you're switching a keyboard between multiple hosts, that sounds tricky. Id 23 on the Q700? Id 9 on the 8100, 56 on the IIgs? Hum.

Yes hot swapping mainly works, but it isn't ideal. You can easily manage keeping the grounds connected, but are they effectively just yanking the other pins and not caring?

The ideal is over complicated - the KVM negotiates an id or ids with each host and then acts as a passthrough for the data, but on each computer's terms regarding ids. Still not ideal. I suspect it is simple not complex.

"Just works" just fine for all the Macs/KBDs I've had on my mechanical KVM Switch setup since the mid-Nineties. Rodents lose their way at times, so I keep an alias for ADB Reset on any desktop I can run off KBD commands. Don't think the ID matters so much to the KBD as it does to the computer? Methinks KBD codes coming in are interpreted as coming from whatever ID for OS purposes and transparent to the KBD controller on the switch? Dunno, interesting questions.

@RadRacer203 LOVE all the goodies, with the exception of those custom cases for the Cube, but then again I don't particularly like the OEM case, not enough slots! I especially like the FWB goodies and that Radius TPD. Which model?

You need to have a Quadre 700 sitting next to that SuperMac display. ;)

That Radius is apparently a Precisioncolor 21! And the other monitor is an Ikegami of some description, also 21", with a Trinitron tube!
