• Updated 2023-07-12: Hello, Guest! Welcome back, and be sure to check out this follow-up post about our outage a week or so ago.

VERY strange DuoDock+ juju . . .

NIGHT STALKER
. . . :O

My, lidless ATM, DuoDock+ just booted up PowerDuo AND 2300c2 with LCD enabled! 8-o

IIRC, it has never done that before and had a known good DeclROM/Socket Combo on board.

I haven't been able to test it fully yet . . . won't have time to do so . . .

. . . gotta start packing to go to the beach for a few days, yin-yang in action, that! :approve:

Has anyone else here got the Dock+ in their collection. IIRC, all my others were either first rev. DuoDocks or the DuoDock II. They all went bye bye with the rest of my stuff in the storage room.

This one seems to be a NuChip NuBus Dock II Logic Board with empty pads for a 68k Duo's Floating Point Processor near the "firewall" on the left hand side.

I wonder if there are any other differences? :?:

I've got a Dock+ and a Dock II. I gotta run atm, I'll check the revisions later. Though, neither has ever booted a Duo with its lcd active.

I'm pretty sure the Dock's DeclROM is FUBAR! :p
Maybe not - it might have just worked loose from the socket. Are you 100% sure this isn't one of the Docks you already modified?

looks like there's empty pads for the 68k Duo's L2 SRAM Cache on there too.
Being as that's downstream of the Dock connector, that would only work on the '030 Duos, correct?

I'm positive this one went unscathed. It has the plastic frame surround intact, the other one I broke and never fixed. I'd intended to make an adapter for it to try a MiniDock ROM. However, it was lost in the storage room fiasco with several other Docks.

When I get back from the beach, I'll see if I can get this ZIF frame to slide off unharmed and re-seat the ROM . . . or worse . . . }:)

The 68030 Duos used the CoPro & Cache in the Dock, Dunno about the 280, I'm not sure if I ever had one . . . :?:
