The PB Duo 2300c that just wouldn't die...

So. In my new quests with vintage apple collecting, I seem to have acquired the most homely PB duo one has ever seen. The battery blew up long ago. The front filter on the LCD panel has become melted and distorted from sitting in an outside junk pile. The best one though...the power supply emitted sweet sweet magic black smoke while I was playing with it big time. But...it still boots and runs great. Now. I would like to find some accessories and maybe a new panel and a battery to recell. Any experience CE in this one lol?

CE? I know since it is IDE, you can replace the IDE Drive in it and put in a CF with a CF-to-IDE Converter in it and watch it boot a lot faster and run for hours on battery!

I have a 2300c and I love it. That front LCD panel is custom to that machine, unfortunately, but you could get parts from ebay. I've seen Duo parts on ebay. Here's an old webpage to hack Duo's in general and how to fix a few problems with it.

These are Japanese, but you can run it through Google Translate Webpage.

Not necessarily, I have seen the same panels used in older Pentium era laptops. I think I have one or two lying around somewhere.

When he said LCD Panel melted, I thought it was the Bezel around the LCD Screen...
