Sonnet Crescendo L2 G3 upgrade model compatibility

The ones I have and have all been very compact in fact I’d say smaller than the sonnet cards. But they may have had larger ones as well.
You can see a 400mhz interware card here in my machine is not very tall at all.
The Alchemy-compatible Boosters were tiny, weren't they? Easily the smallest of any of those L2-type processor upgrades.

Sonnet's L2 cards were a little taller which made them a tight fit in some applications, especially mods such as Color Classic PPC where a good chunk of the inner frame above the L2 processor upgrade has to be cut away. I think the Interware model is just barely short enough to fit without hacking the case even here. Of course only Sonnet offered 500MHz models so you'd still need to get out the hacksaw for maximum speed.

The taller Boosters with the green heatsink were (at least originally) specifically for the 4400. Even if they were Alchemy/Gazelle compatible, as mentioned above they were really tall and so only fit properly in the more spacious Tanzania models.
