They all have their school ID tags on them. I was reading on some forums for old computers about a salvage guy who deals wih PCs mostly but had a school that wanted to sell him 100 iMacs for $40 each or so. He said they had OS 10.4 on them but only had 128MB of RAM, so he would have to upgrade ram just to get rid of them.
I wouldn't run 10.2 with only 128mb forget 10.4. You need 512mb. I was running it in 384mb for a while in my G4 and kernal panics were fairly common until I threw a 512mb stick in it.
I ran 10.3 on a 400MHz G3 iMac with 128MB RAM for a while and although it was understandably sluggish, it actually performed much better than I expected and it was usable for internet etc. Everything got a whole lot faster when I put 512MB RAM in it and it now runs 10.4 with no problems.
$10 says he gets lead poisoning swimming in those iMacs from the CRTs.
but yeah, that's a nice collection.
say, that reminds me, my old elementary school is closing, and they got a bunch of Revision A bondis back in 1998. Wonder if I could scrounge a few, as well as the Biege G3 DT they had, and any other goodies...
