I bet techknight can help me with this.

The reset button doesn't reset the se30. The button itself works but all that happens is the screen will shut off for the duration of pressing or holding the button so I don't like to press it is there a short somewhere? I can't remember if this is normal, but the se30 screen comes back up and is just frozen it doesn't reset.

I checked the ub10 and ub11 sony chips like pin 5 or 6 I can't remember where it goes I had it written down somewhere, seemed okay to me. I didn't have any oscilloscopes or meters to do serious diagnostics like you do but maybe this is an easy fix. Its been this way for years I never tried to fix it wasn't a big deal to me.

Thanks

Pin F-12 on the 68030 is the CPU's reset pin. You should be able to trace it to the switch directly, or to a logic chip to the switch.

Since there is a bar over the word 'RESET' that means that grounding the pin should activate the Reset Sequence. Check if one of the pins on the switch is connected to Ground. At best this can be a bad ground connection to the switch.
