What kind of noise? Is it the normal, happy "bong" sound? The chimes of death? A horrid noise that sounds like two bricks grinding against eachother?

As for the "nothing", does:

1. The screen come on in any way, shape, or form?

2. The drive (assuming there is one) spin up?

3. Does the internal fan turn on?

4. Or does it just sit there as though you hadn't turned it on at all?

These will go a long way to helping us help you :)

:I OOpps. The SE works perfect. I had the Mac Plus on my lap. :I Do not know what a Mac Plus sounds like normally. It sounds like a quick bong.

The screen is blank, no drive noise nothing. The PRAM battery is not there.

So it is number 4.

The Plus makes a very simple "bong" when it starts up, exactly the same as the original Macintosh. There won't be any other noises as the Plus doesn't have a fan or a hard drive.

When you say the screen is blank, is it grey or black? If it is black there may be some kind of video issue, first thing to try is adjusting the brightness knob on the front of the machine.

The knob all turned all the way to the left. So I slowly turned it all the way back, then back and forth, nothing. A friend came over and we went off to buy a G4. Gone about 1 hour. When I got back I noticed the computer was on and the little Mac. Put a boot disk in and it will not boot. One problem gone and one more to go. Will clean the drive tonight.
