Alright folks!
I bought an se/30 board which I thought was alright, no battery damage, caps looked replaced etc. But on closer inspection the caps were installed very badly, some missing and electrolyte still on the board.
The biggest issue was that one of the vram chips was half removed from the board and sitting at an angle. Two mins had it removed properly but it revealed the previous owners bodgery. He must have heated the board as it’s slightly warped and levered the chip with a screwdriver. No need for that.
Anyhow, underneath the chip there’s a gouge and I’m wondering what traces are damaged.
There’s clearly a break to one of the vias visable which would be a handy fix, but being multi layer I’m concerned there might be other damage I can’t see. Is there images of each layer of the board I can use to check? Or even a detailed pic of board stripped of components?
Im not even sure why the previous person would have been lifting this chip to begin with, but hoping once I repair this area and redo and check the caps I might be brave enough to connect it and give it a test.
Hope you can advise as it’s a very tidy board and a real shame it’s been treated like this.
