I’m sure many of you know this, but blue LEDs aren’t accurate for 80s and early 90s computers. They didn’t exists back in the day. There even was an issue of the electronics magazine Elektor in the late eighties (IIRC) that was asking on the front page wether we would see blue LEDs in the future!

Found it, and I didn’t recall correctly (I’m getting old): it was in the early 80s that Elektor was wondering about blue LEDs… (the French edition, the one that I read back in the day used a question mark about blue LEDs, when the English edition has an exclamation mark!?)

Yes, same for purple and any others that use phosphorescent coatings with a UV emitter.

I... don't think we're purists. ;)

I recall seeing blue LED’s for the first time when I bought a Canopus ADVC-100 around the year 2001. The piercingly bright lights were such a distraction - it felt at the time as though they were meant for use as night lights rather than indicators. I had to put electrical tape over them to get to sleep.

My own SE/30’s have had either green or amber LED’s. I have an SE with a red LED.

I think one of you out there has an SE with a blue LED. I'm 90% sure I sold one to a user on here three years ago. I bought the LED at Radio Shack when it was still around.
