Hey y'all, I could really use some tips and feedback, things like that
I've been doing a lot of troubleshooting recently and so far this is the gist of my experience
Recapped the board
cleaned a bit
replaced the PRAM battery with a coin cell
replaced the stock rom with a rominator II
and yet the cpu only seems to show any signs of life when the rom ISN'T installed
Y1, Y2 and Y3 are all working well from what I can tell with my oscilloscope after I replaced Y2 and Y3
+5V rail shows about 4.92v
+12V rail shows about 11.89v
there's not much corrosion compared to some of the boards I've seen but there are one or two traces I haven't checked that look black on top so I'll check continuity later
there's some corrosion on a couple chips near what im calling "capacitor city" and the two sony ones I included a picture for seem to be leaking corrosion out of the ends at least a little
for more details
When the ROM SIMM is installed, the computer shows no signs of life aside from a very very faint filament glow and the fan on the analog board spinning + the hdd turning on
When the ROM SIMM is NOT installed, I get zebra lines on the display
The RESET line seems to be at 2.2V when the ROM is removed when I probe from UE10 or RP7's reset pins
The HALT line seems to be at 4.4V when the ROM is removed
The clock speed is about 16MHz when the ROM is removed
The RESET line seems to be at 0.3 ish volts when the ROM is installed
The HALT line seems to be at 0.5 ish volts when the ROM is installed
The clock speed is about 0MHz when the ROM is installed
