Restoring of two Mac Classic

Hi at all,

i'm trying to restore two logic boards of mac classic, both with very damage caused from battery explosion!
One of this board have damage to the CPU pins, i have desoldered CPU cleaned all and resoldered but have to rewire any pins, hard work.

The other is ok to the CPU but the clock chip is going away, oxided pins and the chip is now out of the board and with no chance to resolder, and it is damaged (pins broken).

The question is, if i turn on the system with this logic board without clock chip, the system boot up or not?

Thanks

Emanuel

To be honest chances are thin you can save a battery bombed board, moreover when there is heavy corrosion.

Yes I agree with you, but in some cases I did it, I was just wondering if the chip clock was strictly necessary for the CPU to work or could start anyway worth the system time.

Found some rtc chips on powerbook 145, 180 logic boards that will work. Also, sound chips will work on lc computers etc
