Whoa What was the trick to this?
That's very interesting! Curious to know if the XA driver contains the (presumably three separate) ROMs for those too...Here's another tease:

Yeah, we've got the source code to the cdevs and the card ROMs here...
You're welcome! I'm very encouraged by whatever trick @cheesestraws just deployed hereHey @cheesestraws you have my full attention now
@jeremywork you are welcome and even more thanks for bringing back this, if it is ending up in some good news... Finger crossed!
No way! That's an amazing findThe trick is that @tshinba or one of his associates had immaculate backup hygiene.
Those files are not cdevs stripped of their metadata. They're fully intact Dantz Retrospect files (it took most of this evening to work out what the file format they were). They are full backups, including all metadata and resource forks of not only the drivers, but the source code to the drivers and to the card ROMs.
I'm just making some stuffit files, will upload in a moment.
You sensed a disturbance in the forceImagine this: I haven't been coming and checking the board here for... weeks.
Now tonight I had this idea, I came, I found the revived thread by @jeremywork and now this work by @cheesestraws ... I am speechless!!! and super happy!

Thank you very much! Unstuffs just fine on my end. It looks like the XA driver in here is actually newer than the previously discovered working one.OK.
@jeremywork @micheledipaola @CircuitBored please download these and make sure you can get the data out of them?
- Pickles24AW3.0.sit and Pickles24V1.4.sit contain the source code to the ROMs to, presumably, those cards.
- PicklesCdev3.0.9.sit contains two different builds (?) of the cdev for the Pickles 24 along with its source code.
- PicklesCdevXA2.2.2a.sit contains the same but for the Pickles XA (I assume).
Now nobody tell anyone we've found the drivers until I have found a card on buyee ok?
(On a less facetious note, I think this is the first source code for an accelerated card that has surfaced?)
@micheledipaola, do you still have Mr. Shinbayashi's contact? It would be lovely to report that his files were, in fact, useful. It was somewhat of a letdown the first time we thought they were unusable.
I was about to ask to post them on Mac Garden - then you will do it when you are ready.
yes I should still have his email somewhere, and I was thinking about writing him already. I will now
Sweet tap-dancing Moses! That's awesome! The trick is that @tshinba or one of his associates had immaculate backup hygiene.

Excellent, thanksNow I went and checked the email... and I found that these files you compiled @cheesestraws were in fact the last files he sent me after we discovered that the drivers he first sent were resources-fried. So even more definitely I am going to write him about this!!!
@cheesestraws in his spare time, just casually unearthing lost Mac treasures...
