Got this quadra 700 online. Its yellow and It absolutely reeks of old cigarette smoke but works great! The old 1991 battery never leaked. Already tried washing everything but it still reeks. Ive wanted one of these for a while but they were too expensive. Wonder what can be done with this computer.

Also picked up an in box PC compatible card for $50! Somebody had it sitting in their basement along with a bunch of 90s powermacs i got also.

Soap and water gets most of the smell out of the plastics, but the tar in the fan and power supply will be harder to get rid of.

Sometimes the only way to get rid of the grease/tar is warm soapy water, blasted with IPA/compressed air after and out outside on a hot day. The case can be deep cleaned with detergent + magic eraser, used very gently and in all grooves.

mmmm, ciggarettes.... you should scrape the ciggy scum off the surfaces and put THAT in yer pipe 'n smoke it, you'll be talking to the 68k machine elves about esoteric assembly programming in no time  it's like taking resin hits when you're broke but it's better because it's 90s computer flavor, yum yum 😋

Honestly soap, water, and a soft paintbrush will clean out a power supply as well as case parts, just let it air dry a few days before powering it up.

Things I can't stand on old machines:
1. Rat/Mouse poop/pee (basically I would 99.999% of the time junk it unless it is very rare).
2. bugs of any kind especially living ones.
3. Smoke residue.
4. Hair and other crap like food or blood (keyboards).
