Recap gone right?

Howdy everyone!

A while ago I got recommended the advice to recap my Q610. Well, today was the day and I finally did it....only to not be sure if I have them on the right way. Can someone confirm I have soldered them on the right way? Last thing I want is for them to snap crackle pop....

Yes they are correct, the stripe on tant's goes to the positive

Was just going to post same!  My experience with recapping two Q610s recently is make sure you clean up the old cap residue using a cotton bud dipped in alcohol.  This is essential practice for all recapped Macs, however I found the Q610 board needed an extra good clean before reliability returned.

Oh thank goodness! I really thought I was going to have to reverse them.

Well....just goes to show. Check the polarity of all caps.

It'll likely be fine, those tants don't tend to take anything with them when they go, unless a component is very near and gets heat damaged, which is not the case here.

So I just redid that capacitor (thank god there was still some of the pad left) and while it doesn’t blow up, I get no boot up chime or activity from the floppy drive. Where should I begin to look next?

Have you thoroughly cleaned the areas around the capacitors? Stray cap goo could cause it to not boot. If that doesn't work, start looking for any traces that look darkened or blackened, this is a sign of corrosion.

Yeah. That did it. Still am having issues with SCSI though. Good news is that it boots and doesn't catch on fire. Now to find out why the SCSI doesn't work.

Just a question for you:  What caps did you install on your Q610?  I ask because I put a set on mine that I thought I would test out (higher voltage) and it made the system not recognize SCSI similar to yours.  I then desoldered the caps I freshly installed, and went back to my normal capacitors and voila! it worked perfectly.
