Radius Color Pivot driver

Try this link for various radius drivers:

http://vintageapple.org/macdrivers/video.shtml

Or this FTP site (login mg / password mg):

www.max1zzz.co.uk:8000/#/*%7CMac%20OS%20Classic/Drivers/Peripheral%20Support%20Drivers/021%20-%20Radius/

If no luck, I have a floppy that came with my SE/30 pivot (monochrome) PDS card. The instructions seem to suggest the software covers color and grayscale pivot cards/monitors. Just tricky getting it to you.

I have one of these too. I need to re-assemble my SE/30 before trying to do anything with it. I lost the driver some time ago, now with your help I've got it.

BTW: Only one link works as of now. The others used to work when I first got it but now they don't. If that last link breaks, I'll be happy to send a copy of it, I've got it on my dropbox. PM me if you want one.

The Color Pivot is a really good card. It even works with some modern LCD displays. I have a Samsung 17 inch. And SSW7 looks actually crispier than Win Vista (the old pc to which the Samsung was connected) !

megabyte, do you plan using an actual Radius Pivot Display or just a common CRT or a LCD?

I have the second one, the 14 inch model but I'm afraid mine's dead. I'll have to crack the case open to see what's the problem.

With either of those displays, it's going to be neat looking setup. Man I'm still jealous of this guy on Youtube.

@Paralel : I should toss it in the garden, yes, but the macintosh garden was not really meant for drivers, The Mac Driver Museum was meant for those drivers.

But it's not ideal because most of its links are dead because they pointed directly to the ftp server of the software companies, which went out of business.

Someone should definitely create a new site which would become the standard like the Mac Garden...

Anyway, I'll upload it to the garden today.

I thought this was a bug as it downloaded ok as a hqx. When I tried to unstuff it, it wouldn't work. It said it was a Text file...

I'm Sorry. Something must have gone wrong when I uploaded it.

Anyway, fixed it now. I tested it and it works.

I agree with the Garden not being for drivers really, but its better than it disappearing for good, which has happened way too many times to various pieces of software.

Would be nice if someone could mirror that site. They could pull the plug tomorrow and everyone would be DOA.

Yeah, it would certainly be great to have a backup.

But I have no idea how to mirror a website.

I've just downloaded a program which is supposed to do so but it's useless.

Hey guys.

I know this is not my post but since it concerns the Radius color Pivot driver...

I don't know if megabyte managed to get his Radius card working on his SE/30 because I haven't.

I have installed the 3 files. But it does not work.

The Soft Pivot control panel gives me a error, this software cannot run on this type of Macintosh. But I'm using a stock SE/30!

And the actual driver itself can't be initialised because you're supposed to open the control panel first before rebooting.

After a few tries, I removed everything and rebooted, and it does the same. Proof that the software didn't work.

At least I know my card works. I get a blue screen with the radius logo. The monitors control panel tells me that there is a Portrait display connected (odd, I'm using a 4:3 LCD??) and I can "use" it. I can drag windows on the other screen, but it's all blue!

BTW: MacGarden is down at the moment. I hope it's not permanent.

Hi!

I successfully installed Radius driver on my SE/30 and it works perfectly :) I used old NEC LCD monitor for testing, but recently found a M1212 monitor in Moscow and want to purchase it at next week.

I will make a photos (and may be a video) of my setup soon.
