Hi all,
I've a Quadra 700 I'm refurbing, it's currently on the bench and I'm putting in some random 256K VRAM modules for upgrades - all 80ns parts.
Using a generic DB15 to VGA monitor adapter (no switches) to a generic VGA display, I can select 640 x 480 (60Hz) and 800 x 600 (56Hz) @ millions of colours. I'm getting some video corruption (random colours behind windows) @ 800 x 600 millions, but not 640 x 480 @ millions.
I don't have an official Apple monitor to test this, but according to online specs, GURU program, the Q700 is only capable of 640 x 480, 832 x 624 or 1152 x 870 - not 800 x 600, and I wondered if my monitor is playing funnies and letting me use a resolution I'm not meant to be using. I've switched various VRAM modules for similar results.
Can someone please confirm if your Quadra 700 can do 800 x 600?
Thanks
JB
