Powermac G4 10.4 Boot Issues

Hi all,

I‘ve spent the last couple hours trying to boot my AGP G4 into a 10.4 install disk from USB. I’ve created the boot disk from the 10.4 image on macintosh garden, and it shows up fine in the boot picker, but on selection it displays the error attached. I also receive a “LOAD-SIZE is too small” error when attempting to boot from open firmware. Is there anything I’m missing here?

Thanks in advance!

Usually, usb needs a special command on these in open firmware to boot. Burn a cd. Its easier! : )

It ended up being my USB drive that was the problem. Once I switched to a different one, it booted up fine. I’m not sure if there’s something different about this Mac in particular, but it seems to boot just fine off USB from the boot-picker
