Powerbook 2400 Polarizing Film Angle

Does anyone know what degree the polarizing film for a powerbook 2400 is? I'd like to try to repair a couple screens but I'm not sure which angle to get.

Should be 45 / 135. Most or infact all should be, I’ve replaced a few but not 2400

Awesome that’s what I needed to know. Any tips on removing the old film? I think I’m doing ok but it’s leaving behind a sticky residue. Going to try cleaning it off with alcohol. I have a broken screen I’m just practicing on first before I I try on one that I care about.

Looks like a topic worthy of a proper write-up and a pin. I have a fair number of screens from various machines across the eras that would benefit from a new polarizer but I'm not sure where to start in most cases because there's such a variety of sizes and quality (STN, TFT, mono, color). I think I threw out a few of the newer panels from iBooks and PBG3s because in addition to being nasty they also smelled horrible and contaminated everything they were near, including corroding some of the PB's internal components, so I didn't feel they were worth the effort.

I just ordered $100(including shipping which was very expensive for some reason) worth of film which will unfortunately only do 3 screens. We'll see how it goes I've never done it before but I plan to share and document the process when it comes if I can. Success or failure you'll see me post it. :p

The other question I have: is it self-adhesive or you have to apply something? Man, that is expensive...

It’s self adhesive, applying it I gather is a bit like going for an ultra large screen protector on an iPhone with all the same challenges. Dust air bubbles etc…. Also removing the old film and residue is quite a chore at least for me.
