Powerbook 190cs Audio Port missing

I have a working PB 190CS which I've put together out of parts from 2 broken machines, both 190CS models. However, the working motherboard is missing the audio jack on the rear and there is no sound from the speaker. The case it it's in has the audio jack punch-out open as if there should have been a jack there, so I'm not sure if there was originally a jack that was removed somehow at some point. I also haven't disassembled the screen to make sure there's a speaker in there, but it seems unlikely to be missing. Were there any Powerbook 190 computers sold without sound functionality or would it be possible to get audio by soldering in the correct audio jack?

My 190cs has an audio out jack, but no audio in - what appears to be the port for that is blanked out on the back panel, but the blank can be removed, which would leave a hole. I presume it's because this is the same casing as the 5300 series, which had both out and in connectors. Or that a 5300 board with both connectors can be swapped in to upgrade from the 040 CPU.

I don't recall what connectors the 190 has, but I doubt it lacks the audio out. I also know that both my 190 and 190cs make a very distinct startup chime, so they don't lack a speaker, even though its just simple mono audio.
