Power Macintosh G3 Minitower

The last Macintosh that I have found is a Power Macintosh G3 Minitower. I went to the seller's home but he didn't know if it was working because he didn't have an adapter to connect it with the vga monitor. I went there with an adapter and the Powermac didn't start. It's appearance was so great,  all the internal and external parts were in great condition so I told him that I will take the risk to buy it and I will try to find out what is happening. The same night I solved the problem. I took out all the memory sticks and I installed one new stick that I had bought 1 month before from OWC. The Powermac worked and it was the 300mhz with full 6mb video card, apple av personality card, DVD drive and usb firewire card. I connected 120gb hard drive and the Ati Radeon 7000 Mac Edition 32mb card. I use it every day,  I have installed lots of games and programs and I have also connected the Roland MT32 sound device which works perfectly on Sierra on line games. It is really a great machine, runs great games from monkey island era to 3d games like quake 3 arena. In the future I would like to acquire a sonnet g4 accelerator and the Ati Radeon 9200 Mac Edition 128mb ram.

Nice score.  Both of mine are weird about RAM too - if I move them around, I often have to reseat everything in order for it to boot.

Dunno if I'd chase that Radeon 9200 or not.  I have one of those and a 7000 as well.  Performance is really about the same.  There are some Sonnet G4 ZIF upgrades on eBay right now that maceffects is selling but they're the slower ones.  I'd pick one up but I'm already at 433MHz and wouldn't gain much so I'll keep looking.

Floppy drive

Plextor DVD writer drive
