Portable backlit motherboard wiring

I opened the case of the backlit model Portable and found this wiring on the motherboard. What is it? Any idea?

It is a apple trace repair from factory. I have many apples with that same green wire repair. It is how they repaired traces in motherboards.

Those are "oopsies". Things they forgot, like missing traces or vias. Or simple reworks in the case there's a bad trace or something. Perhaps they left an unused pin floating and "oops", better tie that to ground.

I am going to go through my parts powerbooks, and see if I can find a back light unit that could be used.

Just gotta get a little time for these fun projects, right now i'm kind of stuck in money generation mode :)

I guess the wife wants to get the kids a swing-set.

Well sell me your back light unit (just kidding as i know you just got it). I don't see any of the older powerbooks or anything else having that screen size. Did you recap your inverter board yet? That has been mentioned as a weak link before. Maybe why it worked and now doesnt. Did you try going back to OS 6.0.8 or whatever it came with? I know the system 7.1 and 7.5 disks list power issues and sleep issues with the portable because of hardware uniqueness like the hard drive and battery pre laptop (although that may be the non backlit model of course).
