I have one of these.. are they any good? I'm guessing it needs software as I cant get anything to be seen on it.
I cant even remember where I got it 😂20230605_164729.jpg

SCSI controller based on the 53C90A. It's a slightly better chip than the 5380 in older Macintoshes, similar to the later 53c94 and 53c96 that were widely used. Might be a bit better than the on-board SCSI of older NuBus system, but it is on the NuBus so might have higher latency.

You could dump the ROM to see if there's an embedded driver or not. If you can't use it, either there's no driver, or it's not compatible with whatever System you use (SCSI manager had several revisions, not all compatible with other versions' drivers...).

They are better than the SCSI built into a Mac. I have one that came with a Quadra 950 Cactus RIP setup.

That external connector is used for Fast Narrow SCSI, so I'd think it will turn out be significantly faster than onboard SCSI.

edit: might could be?
