This had to be a thread. I'll start off with a rare iMac G5 I bought on eBay. Sure, these are dumpster fires, but cool to have! May have paid a bit too much, haha.

I had to replace the power supply in my 2.1GHz iMac G5 but after I did that, it was fine.
Pretty sure these do suffer from a hint of bad caps. Not as bad as the ones that came before it, but probably not reliable either.
I had a 1.9GHz iSight iMac at some point and the motherboard went out. Apparently, a similar thing happened with my Dual core 2.3GHz G5 where the northbridge went out.
The latter I am very upset about.

Well all I found was an HP Compaq Elite 8300 all-in-one. Not really cool, but not uninteresting either. Personally I've never had a PC all-in-one system, so it should be fun to mess with!

Well I may get a Performa 6360 from someone soon! Should be a fun system especially considering it's not a 6200... LMAO

Apologies for being a little spammy here, but I may get to look at IBM and Commodore systems soon, unsure of what they are and they might need to go back to the army since they were used in my ROTC class. Also might have more parts for sale if anyone is interested.

Forgot to mention I am getting a load of SCA hard drives. May use them in 50 pin macs and I am already thinking of installing one in a Macintosh Classic...

Most compact Macs had a fairly low power budget, especially the post-SE/30 models, so I'd probably reconsider using SCA drives in those, at least any of the >7200RPM models. Modern 7200RPM drives probably actually draw close to the same amount of power as those older, slower drives, but the newer high-speed ones draw considerably more.

I wish there were some cheaper SCSI flash drives available. I really only need 2~4GB of space in the average 68k (or even early PPC) Mac, and $100 for a SCSI2SD is a little high for an accessory for use with a computer that probably didn't cost that much. Somewhere between $25-50 would be much more palatable.

Good to know. I did try running an SCA drive in an LC 475 and it sounded like a UFO on startup. Definitely a power issue. I might be able to use one in a IIcx I plan to get though.

Got some 146.8 gig U320 drives in. Would be great to use these in my QuickSilver once I get it to a workable state again. Anyone know of a cheap SCSI card for these macs? I have heard of the UL4D cards but those cost a fortune.

An Adaptec 29160N would do the job. I bought one locally from a used computer store for $2.95, plus tax. Had the Mac firmware on it.

Well it appears as though I managed to find an SCA drive with similar power amperage and ratings to the old 120MB Maxtor disk. 9.1GB Seagate Cheetah of some sort... going to put it through the test.

Appears to be formatting no problem. I see this as an absolute win.
If someone else is trying to do this, I recommend a recap just to be safe. Newer caps should be better with power filtering anyway

Spoke too soon, adapter does not have SCSI termination nor the disk. Will have to get one of max's adapters someday!

Getting my hands on the 6360!
I also got pictures of the internals, and lo and behold, there was a G3 card installed!!
I am genuinely hyped~
