New Halloween app from Insanely gruz (MacGhost)

Insanely gruz (aka killgruz) has put out another video showcasing his newly made app in time for Halloween. He can definitely produce 68k native applications, but he decided making this as a self-running hypercard stack. It's a little silly Halloween thing, which you can find out about in the video below.

It requires System 6.0.3 or above (to support the version of Hypercard he used) and Macintalk. I was able to copy it over a 800kb DSDD disk for my Mac Plus, which runs it a little slow. I can't have both System 6.0.3 and his app on the same disk though, it just doesn't fit, which is my main disappointment. I run it fine on my FloppyEmu in hard disk mode. It also has a speedier mini-vMac mode (via a checkbox in the application) to let it rip under maximal emulation speed.

Also of note is the way he releases his piece of software - every option is available for convenience: a bootable 1.44 mb DSK, a non-bootable 800kb disk with Macintalk included, binary files which can extract under a Stuffit that can run in system 6, I believe. He made a webpage for it here: https://gruz.itch.io/macghost/download/s6arjHJJJCGQQvwdtXRA4gTQdJb3gCIng922CRZ_ This is a CLINIC on how to release anything in the modern age for 68k macs - give EVERY option under the sun, don't assume people are savvy into getting these files in a stepping stone platform (System 7 real mac or basilisk II emulation environment, or otherwise) before you can get it into a b&w mac. This goes above and beyond Mac Garden's approach and I like it very much.

This looks great! Gives me an excuse to setup and run my compact macs all detecting ghosts this halloween!

I do appreciate the multiple formats - getting from one to another can be challenging sometimes. When I find a file on the garden that would be easier in a different format I usually repackage and upload it - it's all driven by community.

Will posts some spooky photos of it running once I get it setup :)
