Messed up my internal mac iisi floppy drive

Made a rookie mistake with my first pre-2000s computer and accidentally plugged in the internal floppy while the my iisi was still on. Luckily it seems like the computer is undamaged, but now the drive won't read or initialize anything. Any advice? I'm at a loss and would rather not shell out for a replacement drive.

Probably damaged the SWIM chip on the logic board, which handles floppy drive operations. Replacing it / trying with another SWIM is probably the only solution.

You’ll pretty much have to try a different drive in order to diagnose, or try the drive in another machine.
