MDD waking instantly from sleep

Until recently, this MDD dual 1.4 would sleep reliably. Recently when I put it in sleep it wakes back up before the fans have the chance to spin all the way down. Trying to backtrack what has changed.

Have you encountered this behavior? Any ideas of what to try? Already disabled wake for network.

Though my experience does not come from the MDD:
Since I disabled, that the Bluetooth mouse can wake my iMac from 2007, it can sleep again.
The Macbook Air M1 often needs several tries to put it to sleep. With at least the third try, it will sleep in 90% of the cases.
My MDD 867 does not have sleep problems, but in the last years, I always shut it down, so probably that's why I do not encounter this issue with that device.

The log (Konsole.App) might indicate the reason for wake. With the iMac, this trace lead me to the mouse. With the MBA, this did not help me...

Do you have wake on LAN enabled? Does it still do it when no network is connected?

Have you tested it while booted from a bootable CD/DVD? Does it work then.

Otherwise could it be the PSU trickle voltage becoming weak? G4 PSUs are failing a fair amount.

I had this once and it was the ADC monitor. With a different screen it was fine.

Let us know what you figure out.

I neglected to mention I am running macos 9. Is there a similar log somewhere in macos 9 to trace?
I was told the PSU was beginning to fail when I bought it. I read that trickle voltage could inhibit startup, but why would this cause it to come out of sleep?

I’ve found the PCI cards were the culprit- adaptec usb card and keyspan serial card. I found a note in the adaptec doc mentioning this.
Now the system is sleeping, but fan is still running- is there a cooldown cycle expected until everything is silent?
