I have been rolling around with this idea in my head for a long time. I think its time to get it on paper though. BMOW is discontinuing the rominator for the plus so thats what sparked this thread.
He made one more run so I bought one.
So, as the title says, I was going to transplant a SWIM into a Mac Plus motherboard, and then use the BMOW rominator with a hacked ROM to contain the FDHD driver from the SE hacked into the Plus ROM.
Problem is, I know zilch about patching/modifying ROM.
So the future of this thread will be determined by someone that has knowledge in hacking the ROMs like BMOW, or others.
What I have gathered is taking the .Sony driver of the Mac SE FDHD, and patching it into the ROM of the Plus. Problem is, I dont know how to do that, nor do I have disassemblies of both the Plus and SE .SONY drivers to compare any differences of maybe physical addressing of where the SWIM/IWM sits between the two models if they are the same or not.
If they are, then its a simple matter of patching it over, right? or is there more involved?
