So my SE SuperDrive that I received yesterday doesn't seem to accept a disk.
I don't have any 3.5" disks that have content that's actually for the SE/System 7.1 but I found a disk here at the office that was for Mac OS8 disk tools. While I didn't expect to be able to read it, I figured it would work to find out if the drive on the SE would at least accept a disk and/or eject, etc.
I can slide the disk mostly into the slot, but it won't go all the way in. I'm not trying to jam it in there, but be relatively gentle. But it seems to have no willingness to accept the disk. Attached image shows where it stops moving. There are no sounds of a motor trying to accept it. It just stops there.
Is there anything I should be doing? Want to cover my bases before asking the seller who listed it as "tested working by technician".
Edit: I did look in the slot with a light – I don't see anything physically obstructing (ie another disk. haha).
