Mac Plus and HD20

My old-style mouse is also a IIe mouse!

And the fan mod that was installed on my latest Plus is remarkably effective. The Plus was getting quite hot on the side before I hooked the fan back up again (it had been kindly disconnected by the previous owner before being put into storage). After I reconnected it, the side now barely gets warm.

I might have to try that on the PlatPlus I'm getting from mcdermd, even though it probably won't be used a whole lot - last time I used my //e was about 4-5 years ago. Different collecting hobby kinda took over lol...

Normally, there'd be a //e or a IIgs system on this dresser. Instead, there's a NEMA traffic signal backpanel, a Siemens M50 controller unit, plus three signal heads...

Those look like some pretty darn old traffic signals. Haven't seen fully round 12"ers like that before! Not to mention, completely closed visors.

They are from 1979. Came from the South side of the E Katella Ave & N California St intersection in Orange, California. Removed the backplates that were on them to save space. Both made by Econolite, back when they had their manufacturing facility in Anaheim, CA.

Whoa. When do we get a Traffic Light DA?

And yeah, I would love some kind of standalone keyboard. The only reason I haven't gotten one (and a mouse) is cost---is there a better source than $90 sellers on eBay?

I was very lucky and got my IIe mouse for about 30-something on ebay a couple years ago or so. But for something that isn't actually particularly rare (DB9 mice), people sure are charging a fortune for them, and the keyboards. Practically as much as the computer at this point! It's bonkers.

Fascinating coincidence!

I am somewhat familiar with that stretch of Katella (having visited Disneyland several times over the past decade or so), but more so farther down, in the area of Knott Ave because that is where I went to an Olive Garden for the first time. Maybe it's overhyped, but I liked it well enough :)

I never knew it in 1979 though. I kind of which I had, as it seemed like a better time to be alive in some ways (I'm sure there were negatives that make now better overall, but that being said, the past two or so years have set the bar so low that almost anything is better).
