Liberated an Apple Multiple Scan 15av display today.

Got it from the thrift store downtown, and it works perfectly. There was a tag on the end of the cable labeled 'tower.' Asked if they had the tower that goes with the monitor. No dice.

Manufactured Sept. 96, so odds are very good that I wouldn't have been interested in the compy anyway. I'm pure 68k, baby!

well except for my two intel macs...

Nice one, those displays are pretty decent and are tough as old boots. Surprisingly enough it is possible to get 1024x768 resolution from them, which is good for a 15" monitor from that era.

MS15s are pretty decent displays. Sadly mine has an unstable image (it very very slightly shifts up and down while using it), so I use the MUCH better IBM P50 (similar in age, but it uses a Sony Trinitron tube, and its designed to handle resolutions up to 1280x1024) with an adapter.

Any help on configuring that? I did the Option+Open Monitors & Sound control panel trick, and it didn't work.

It really depends on what model of Mac you are using as many of the 68Ks are limited to 800x600 as their max output resolution. I think when I had mine running at 1024x768 it was actually connected to a PC, but I can't remember. Will have to dig it out and give it a try with a few different Macs to see...

If the mac supports output at that resolution, you should be able to select the resolution just fine. I had an old MS15 that ran great at 1024x768 with no modification or anything.
