Mac DB15 Video to MiniDP

In the spirit of BMOW's new ADB-USB converter (https://68kmla.org/forums/index.php?/topic/30470-retro-usb-input-converter-for-keyboards-and-mice/) and Themk's follow-up thread about an ADB keyboard-mouse switch (https://68kmla.org/forums/index.php?/topic/30475-adb-keyboard-and-mouse-switch/), I just wanted to throw out there that one nice peripheral to have would be a Mac DB15 video to mini DisplayPort converter. I have a DP KVM that I'd love to hook my Quadra 840av to if I had the ADB-USB and video converter.

I'm guessing it would have to be externally powered, seeing as how similar devices, like StarTech's VGA to HDMI converter (https://www.startech.com/AV/Converters/Video/VGA-to-HDMI-Portable-Adapter-Converter-USB-Audio-Power-1080p~VGA2HDU), borrow USB power, which obviously is not available on Macs of that vintage.

Any enterprising souls looking for a new project?   ;D

I could figure out how to stuff all of those in a box, with a common power connector. That's about all I could do in this department.

How those adaptors handle the interesting HSYNC and VSYNC frequencies of some/most mac resolutions? I couldn't tell you, but I wouldn't expect much there. The sync signals are pretty hostile to modern LCDs and such.

By the way video switching is a planned feature for my ADB switching box, making it a true KVM switch. This doesn't solve your analog->digital problem, as it will be analog switching, but it would allow you to use multiple macs with one monitor.
