Agreed, is there a purple glow with lights off?
Yes its bad.I checked it and it is shorted and when I removed it, measurements at it's pins are between 2,9 and 4,9ohms.
The irf640 mosfet also is gone...cooked...

Not at home right now but know for a fact the one I have works, I can measure mine when I get home but the one I have is yours for $25

Hi Everyone! I'm a new member here; and unfortunately I have the same problem from Mr. Saxonas.; the difference is that I need a flyback to my CLASSIC from 1991. When I turn on my Mac; they are doing strangers sounds coming from the flyback; and on the screens it's possible to see some flashing vertically. It's possible to solve trying to weld again or I'll need a new flyback? Please let me know! iZier.

Do me a favor here and take a picture of the back of your analog board.

After changing the HOT transistor, the LOPT from JanJan (thank you!), recaping the power supply and METICULOUSLY (I can't stress this enough) cleaning the motherboard, you can see the result! (yes, it's in greek).
