It is with a heavy heart that I share our friend and mentor, Ray Arachelian (sunder), passed away this week after a hard-fought battle with cancer at the age of 51.

Ray was a member of 68kmla for over fifteen years and is well known within the hobby as the creator of LisaEm – “The First Fully Functional Lisa Emulator”. LisaEm was a passion project of Ray’s, with development starting in the late 1990’s and continuing into late 2022. He spent countless hours in the development of LisaEm, not to mention maintaining lisalist2.com and engaging with the community on all sorts of topics the last few decades.

Ray is survived by his wife of 23 years, and two sons, 15 and 18, who carry on his legacy as enthusiasts and academics in the world of Computer Science.

Ray leaves behind a wonderful family and a community of folks who shared a similar passion in our hobby, and we will all suffer the loss of an inspiring individual who left the world too soon.

(Virtual) Friends and family are encouraged to leave tributes and condolences at a Tribute Wall setup for him here by his family. I know Ray built numerous friendships across his many domains of expertise, and I know his family will appreciate seeing how Ray impacted so many of us in big and small ways.

Thanks for everything, Ray. We’ll miss you!
