LC-III survived recapping \o/

Some time ago I opened my LC-III again and noticed the caps started leaking, seems I waited too long:

So I had to remove them, and clean up the gunk they left around. It took several baths, but even vinegar didn't help much and only some Kontakt 60 + WL actually got the mess out. One more water bath, drying and some WD40, and I could solder the new caps…

I cleaned up the floppy drive as well. The PSU might need some recapping some day.

What is the WD40 used for ?

After the rincing of the WL (I wanted to make sure there isn't anything left diluted on it) with demineralized water and drying I wanted to make sure it wouldn't get any moisture on, it's mostly used to limit further corroding.

Also, that's a really nice little screen you're using there!  What is it?

It's an Eyoyo 10" LCD I got on amazon. There are many similar models based on a panel + a controller board which you can even reflash. Has all possible inputs except SCART (and the VGA input sadly doesn't seem to take RGB signals from my ORIC), and is quite cheap, but it does the job.
