LaCie d2 FW HD not mounting under OS 9

Having a weird issue with an external disk I have had for a long time. I just reformatted and copied over files to this d2 500GB drive with quad interface. Hooked up the drive via FW to my Quicksilver, works just fine under 10.4. However, when I restart in OS 9, as the finder loads, I am greeted by "This disk is unrecognizable. Do you want to format it?", with the option to erase the 500GB drive. I checked with the OS 10.4 disk utility, it is formatted as Mac OS Extended, Journaled, which should be just fine for 9. Any ideas as to what might cause this to happen?

You probably need to add the OS 9 disk drivers for it to be properly detected - either format the drive again under OS 9, or under OS X 10.3/4 make sure "include OS 9 disk drivers" is checked when you format. I've found that isn't 100% reliable so I'd do the OS 9 method first and see how you go.

Yes, I am a doof: I checked, and I had it formatted with GUID, not Apple Partition Map. That plus OS 9 drivers solved the issue. Thanks!
