Japanese A1048 arrived. Oh my god, it's so nice to type on... and I have never seen anything so fresh from Apple's older lineups!

Well well well... what have I done 😅

Shipping will cost a fortune (Sendico also has protective packaging if that helps..) but I have wanted one of these dead or alive since I was 7 years old... I am planning to put a better board in, though.

5210 arrived at Sendico's warehouse. Chose all the protection options and even stated that it's a very fragile system, and also opted for Surface mail due to current space constraints. 6360 and iMac G5 may both arrive tomorrow. Hopefully by 3 months time I'll still be around... lol

I should be receiving the iMac G5 and the 6360 today. Hopefully this G5 won't lock up on me like the last two G5 based systems I had did! I have been conditioned to know that when later PowerMacs have lots of wear that I know something will go wrong in the next day or 2... Luckily, my eMacs are not a part of this... yet.

Received the 6360 and the iMac G5 yesterday and went through a painful process of repasting the latter. I thought of delidding the northbridge Kodiak chip, but then I got CELL delid PTSD.

Either way, it works like a charm and I also have the restore discs from a teacher who gave me some old PPC OS X software. Any other 20" iSight G5 owners out there? I love mine so far, much better than previous iMac G5s but a bit more painful to service...

SHE LIVES! I have decided 1.06GHz is a safe maximum for these cards.
Thanks to @mints for the replacement card and @EvieSigma for sending me the original parts (still using the heatsink) months back. We're back in business! :)

The 5210CD arrives today.
Over the past 2 months I didn't get much other than some junk laptops and a bike stolen from me. :/
I am also waiting on a couple of hi-spec Toshiba Tecra A9 units to mess with too.

Do share pictures of the 6360 and its logic board. I once had a 6320 of my own, and it really was a slow beast (but not as slow as my PowerBook 5300c was).

I’ve never seen a 6360 for sale in the UK, either in the old issues of MacUser or on eBay. I assume they didn’t sell them here.

I need to get it out of the closet but here are some pics I took a while back.

So the Macintosh Performa 5210 I was hoping to have intact... didn't arrive intact. Honestly I was very much overconfident with this machine, but that isn't something a lot of precision work with Gorilla plastic super glue and a good set of puzzle solving skills can't fix.

Graduating high school later today, and went home with this after the last walk through the hallways! A 2003 dual 2GHz G5 with a Radeon 9600 Pro... always wanted a working G5 since a while back when both of my other G5s died.20220526_094206.jpg

My middle and high schools are where I got a good chunk of my collection in the late 90s and early 2000s.

So last night after my joyride with my grandmother I picked up a Compaq Presario SR5123WM from her house.

And now after restoring the factory image for fun, I can see why people ostracize vista. RTM was god awful.

Does anyone even use Vista anymore? I went from XP to 7 and pretty much only use 10 on a couple machines because I have to.

I don't think very many people do. There probably are some masochists out there who do use it, but they'd be few and far between.

Guilty…
I run Vista on a few old laptops from the 2007-2009 time period. It honestly runs really great fully patched. 7 is better but I’m “that guy” who loves both.
