Hello Macintosh fans,

My name is Emiel, I am from Holland (somewhere in Europe).

The first time a have worked with a Mac was in 1987 at the graphic and printing school. I don't know which model it was. It could by a 128, a 512 or a Plus.

In 1992 I have bought my first own Mac: a Macintosh LC (4/80) with a 12 inch monitor. In 1993 I change it by Apple for a Macintosh LC III (4/160), which i still have. I have used this LC III until i get a Macintosh IIfx from a colleague, a graphic designer at the printing company where I had a job as printer. About this IIfx, which I also still have, i will tell in another topic.

In 1993 I bought from my boss a Machintosh Plus with Hyperdrive 20. Later I upgraded this Mac to 4 Mb RAM. Originaly become with this Mac systemdisks with Mac OS 3.2. I have also made systemdisks with Mac OS 6.0.7-NL that can handle with the internal Hyperdrive-HD. Later, I have lent this Mac to a friend of a colleague and... it never came back!!! Maybe I can ever get another one on Ebay or something like that.

The next Macintosh I have bought was in 2000: a secondhand Powermac 8600-200, 144 Mb RAM, 2 Gb HD, CD-rom and ZIP-drive. I have updraged this Mac several times (more RAM, another 4 Gb HD and a Sonnet 400 Mhz G3-upgrade). This Mac, which i also still have, is normally not in use, but still in working grade.

In 2001 I have bought an iBook G3 333 Mhz with 64 Mb RAM en a 10 Gb HD (the white/blue one). About a year ago I upgraded it to 576 Mb RAM. This iBook is still usefull, but the battery is not functioning properly.

In 2003 I have bought a new Macintosh: a Power Macintosh G4 867 MHz dual with 256 Mb RAM, a 60 Gb HD and a CD/DVD Combodrive. Last year I have sold this mac to a friend (normally a windows-user, so i thought selling him a Mac was a win-win situation...)

Just before selling my G4, I bought a secondhand Powermac G5 2.0 dual, a memory-upgrade to 4 Gb RAM and a new 250 Gb HD. This Mac is my main-Mac at the monent.

As you can see al long Macintosh history and the use of several models. I found this forum by searching for IIfx-stuff and registered almost directly. I think i can find here (and also give) a lot of information.

About my Machintosh IIfx, I will write a topic in "Mac II, Quadra & Centris" later on.

The last thing: english is not my main language. I use a translation-website, but that is not always succesfull. If there is something not clear, wrong or whatever, let me know.

Greetings from Holland,

Emiel
